Circus & Production
Mia hails from four generations of circus performers; her grandmother was acclaimed wire walker, Ala Naitto.
She began touring at age 22 after completing a BA in Dance
at the University of Massachusetts, being a scholarship student at the Martha Graham School, and studying in multiple intensive programs at the Alvin Ailey School. She found her love of production work early in her career when she became dance captain and rehearsal director for Cirque Le Masque, an internationally touring theatrical circus company which employed her for more than a decade. Mia has since choreographed, stage-managed, tour managed, cast, production managed, created, and otherwise overseen hundreds of productions from multi-million dollar corporate events, to rock and roll tours, to full scale theatrical productions, to feature films. She is happiest immersed in the throes of production, because there is nothing like
a standing ovation!
She has worked on production teams for: Cirque Le Masque, Larusa Entertainment, Steelman Productions, Buckland Associates, Bongar Biz, Pathé Films, and currently for MOTH Poetic Circus.
